Veneers Irvine

Veneers are synthetic shells that alter the appearance of your teeth. Their primary purpose is to add an aesthetic appeal to your smile. Your dentist will add the veneer to the surface of your tooth and is recommended for a variety of reasons:

  • Veneers can improve the aesthetic appeal of a smile for people with stained teeth
  • Veneers can help to fill in the gaps between teeth
  • Chipped, broken or crooked tooth can be balanced with addition of veneers
Most dentists offer 2 kinds of veneers. The simpler one is the composite veneer, which is cheaper and easier to get. Yet, it does not last long and appears less attractive than its more-aesthetic porcelain veneers. The procedure of getting porcelain veneers is a little more complicated.

During your initial visit, your doctor will prepare the surface of your teeth for fitting of the veneers. This may involve trimming of your teeth. Then, the doctor will take an impression of your teeth to be sent to the laboratory for making of customized veneers which fit your teeth. If the dentist deems it appropriate, you may be fitted with temporary veneers until your original pair is ready. Once the lab has made your veneers, your doctor will call you in for the final fitting.
